Hey you! It’s me again.
I feel like time is slipping away from me, so I’m trying to leave you something here as often as I can.
I’m still not sure whether I should just have ChatGPT translate all of this and print it out for you, or whether I should give it to you handwritten… or maybe even record it all as audio?? I wonder which one you would prefer.
We had our going-away party today, and the person I missed the most was you.
Jamie also asked me what I would have done — how I would have reacted — if you had asked me to stay.
And without even having to think about it, I simply said:
“Yes. I would have stayed.”
The biggest lie everybody tells you about loving the wrong person is that you wasted your time.
You didn’t.
Because time wasn’t the hardest thing to lose. The hardest part was slowly becoming the person that you promised yourself you’d never be. You learned to call disappointment patience. You learned to call loneliness love.
And the saddest part is that when it ended, you didn’t miss them. You missed the person that you became just to keep them.
